TEXTILE WORKSHOP AT ABA HOUSE IN GHANA

This workshop focuses on the rich culture and history of African textiles and the study of them in the context of their cultural significance.
Stay in our guest house with an ocean view: accommodations and breakfast and dinner included, participate in workshops taught by African artisans.
Included: accommodations - breakfast/dinner - workshops - supplies - transportation in Ghana - entry fees - visit galleries - museums - traditional villages - outdoor markets - meet dealers in antique textiles - buy from the maker - orientation and help with visa application - English speaking guides
Not included: lunch, airfare and related expenses
Open to all ages and skill levels - find new friends - new inspiration - new understanding of creativity and interact with creative Ghanaians on a personal level

Our mission is to make a better world through the language of art.
We are a pretty much self funded non-profit. Fees for workshops and tours support our two-fold mission of training local children to be self sufficient by developing their sense of self-esteem and empowerment. By paying school related expenses we encourage the children to stay in school and become productive members of society. We also work with indigenous artisans, pay them to conduct workshops at our residencies and help them sell their traditional crafts. In order to achieve our mission, the fees also cover expenses like internet access, cost of supplies and general expenses that support our programs.
